Sep. 24th, 2017 06:14 pmName: Chirrut Îmwe
Canon: Star Wars
Scrubs Color: Light grey
Visible Age: 52
Gender: male
Height: 5'8"
Physique: athletic build but not overly bulky
Complexion: tanned
Hygiene: he does his best to keep clean and put-together, washes and shaves on the regular
Hair: black with a little bit of greying at the temples
Eyes: cloudy
Defining Marks: none really; he's got a few scars here and there from his various exploits but nothing really distinguishing
Accent/Speech: slight accent that sounds similar to Earth Chinese
Bearing/Demeanor: he carries himself like he's unassuming, generally intentionally giving off the impression of an older blind man to deflect attention but with a fair amount of confidence in most situations so long as he's familiar with his surroundings. He's either quietly observing or chatty and friendly to the point of annoyance depending on what he needs out of a situation. When he thinks he's not being watched, or just has a need to bypass the preferred impression, he moves through the world with a lot more surety than those who don't know him might expect, confident and generally giving the impression that he's not as blind as he seems; think Matt Murdock here.
Gait: Depends on the situation; if he knows his surroundings it's fluid and even with a brisk pace, otherwise it's slower and more deliberate as he picks/feels his way around.
Habits: pretending he's less aware of things than he is, relying on his faith/Baze more than others (read: Baze) feel comfortable with
Skills: Chirrut has spent the bulk of his adult life in service to a spiritual order dedicated to the Force, specifically in the protection of its temple; as a result, he's essentially a warrior monk, accomplished in both a very specific flavor of alien martial arts and with both a staff and a version of a crossbow. In addition, since the temple was designed to be self-contained he's familiar with various farming, hunting, and other survival-type skills and general skills like cooking and simple sewing.
Granted, a lot of it sounds extremely improbable for a blind man, however his training as part of his order, as well as his martial arts-type training, has all emphasized a kind of mind-body balance, being in complete control of his body and expanding his senses so he has an almost preternatural awareness of the world around him and his place in it, allowing for him to both fight and fire projectiles with a great deal of accuracy.
He also tends to be extremely headstrong with a tendency to take charge of a situation as needed; in canon he is originally found at the ruins of an old temple, and through the interactions of him and his companion Baze it's pretty apparent he's used to taking point in most interactions, and is pretty fearless even when he's not entirely sure what's going on or is out of his element, with an aptitude for thinking on the fly and making things up as he goes, adapting to his environment and situation as necessary. He was a preacher before the main protagonist stumbles across him, and is extremely spiritual, frequently making reference to his belief that the Force is the governing force of the universe and everything is, ultimately, part of Its plan. He's a perpetual optimist, at the end of the day, determined to see the good in everything, or at least to believe in a positive outcome somewhere, even after all the hardship he's been through, with an upbeat, joking demeanor.
